Whew! The last few weeks have been *busy*!
Kosrae Economic Summit Banner
Last week Kosrae State held a excellent two day Economic Summit focused on the development of small businesses here on Kosrae and in the FSM as a whole. The Kosrae Chamber of Commerce chairman, Witson Phillip, co-chaired the conference.
A wide range of issues were discussed, ranging from marketing and promotion at the State and National level to infrastructure, particularly transportation and telecommunications and product standards.
In addition to the plenary sessions, two working groups specifically addressed critical private sector and finance issues. Identifying potential solutions as well as short term goals and preferred final outcomes.
The summit outcomes will be used as a road map for development at the State level and as the Kosrae contributions to the FSM National Economic Summit deliberations in January 2001.
